Fine Art and Artifact Storage

Theft, unstable humidity, temperature variance, careless handling -- they are the enemies of both fine art and historic artifacts.

TEA offers fine art and artifact storage facilities that are fully climate-controlled and monitored 24 hours a day.

Long-term storage is available, offering safe, affordable climate controlled storage for artifacts museums hold in the public trust.

We also offer space in our fine art storage facility for our members on a short-term basis as they plan for facility expansion or renovation or when traveling exhibitions are between venues.

Works shipped to TEA for storage are received through our indoor, temperature-controlled loading dock and handled only by our professionally trained staff.

Low cost insurance is also available for stored artifacts. Registration services are available for a negotiated fee.

As a non-profit membership cooperative, TEA strives to keep its fees low while offering quality services.  As of October 2009, our storage rates are:

For TEA members: 

  • $2.50 per square foot per month, climate controlled
  • $1.50 per square foot per month, non-climate controlled
  • Insurance for stored artifacts is available at a cost of .06 per $100 of value per month

For non-members:

  • $3.50 per square foot per month
  • Insurance for stored artifacts is available at a cost of .10 per $100 of value per month
